ERM (Esoteric Resistive Membrane) fibres have an anti-microbial compound built into the membrane itself. Microbes that touch the surface are killed and washed away, so the membrane resists bio-fouling and nothing leaches into your water.

Use the supplied syringe to backwash: push clean water backwards through the outlet to flush dirt out of the fibres. It takes under a minute; do it whenever flow slows or weekly with muddy water.

It is washable through backwash throughout its life. After 2 years or 10,000 litres the purifier should be replaced.

Yes, as long as the water is sweet (low TDS) and not chemically or industrially contaminated. Very muddy water should be allowed to settle first.
