Terms & Conditions

Last updated: 27 Oct 2026

These Terms & Conditions are the agreement between you and PAKVITAE when you browse pakvitae.org, order a Water Ka Doctor purifier or another product, or book one of our services. We have tried to write them clearly. Please read them before placing an order — by using the website or completing a purchase, you accept these terms.

1. About us and these terms

pakvitae.org is operated by PAKVITAE (“Pak Vitae”, “we”, “us”, “our”), Block 20, Gulistan-e-Johar, Karachi, Sindh 74200, Pakistan. You can reach us at [email protected] or on UAN/WhatsApp 0304-1110227, Monday–Saturday 10am–6pm.

These terms apply to every visit to the website and every order placed through it, by phone, by email or by WhatsApp. They should be read together with our Privacy Policy, Shipping Policy, Refund & Returns Policy, Disclaimer and Cookie Policy. If anything in those policies conflicts with these terms, these terms prevail unless the policy says otherwise.

Separate written agreements may apply to large community, school, NGO or relief projects. Where such an agreement exists, it takes priority for that project.

2. Who can use the site and buy from us

  • You must be at least 18 years old, or use the site under the supervision of a parent or guardian, to place an order.
  • You must give accurate, complete information — in particular a reachable phone number and a full delivery address, because we confirm orders by call or WhatsApp before dispatch.
  • If you order on behalf of a school, company, mosque committee, NGO or other organisation, you confirm that you are authorised to do so and the organisation is bound by these terms.
  • Our standard delivery area is Pakistan. Orders from outside Pakistan are accepted only by prior arrangement (see the Shipping Policy).

3. Customer accounts

You can check out as a guest or create an account. If you create one, you are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for all activity under your account. Tell us straight away if you suspect unauthorised use. We may suspend or close accounts that are used fraudulently, to place fake orders, to post abusive content or otherwise in breach of these terms. You may close your account at any time by contacting us; order records we are legally required to keep will be retained as described in the Privacy Policy.

4. Product information

We take care to describe our products accurately. Water Ka Doctor is a hollow-fibre ultrafiltration purifier with a nominal pore size of 0.1 micron, a flow rate of up to 60 litres per hour without electricity, and a usage life of approximately 2 years or 10,000 litres for a typical family of five. Product photographs are for illustration; packaging, colours and accessory designs may vary slightly between production batches without affecting performance.

Performance figures (such as removal rates for bacteria, parasites and micro-plastics) are based on laboratory testing under controlled conditions. Results in your home depend on your source water, pressure, temperature and how the purifier is used and maintained. Please read the Disclaimer for the limits of what the product does.

5. Placing an order and how a contract is formed

  1. When you submit an order on the website, you will receive an on-screen confirmation and, where you provided an email address, an order-received email. This is an acknowledgement, not acceptance.
  2. Our team will contact you by phone or WhatsApp to confirm your address and order details. A contract between you and PAKVITAE is formed when we confirm the order and dispatch it (or, for services, when we confirm your appointment).
  3. We may decline or cancel an order before dispatch — for example if a product is out of stock, the price was displayed in error, we cannot reach you to confirm, the address is outside our delivery network, or we suspect fraud. If you have already paid, we will refund you in full.
  4. For bulk, NGO and community orders, a written quotation is valid for the period stated on it (normally 15 days). The order is accepted when we confirm in writing and any agreed advance is received.

6. Prices

  • All prices are in US Dollars (USD) and include applicable sales tax unless stated otherwise.
  • Delivery within Pakistan is free for standard household orders unless the product page or checkout shows otherwise.
  • Prices and promotions may change at any time, but changes will not affect orders already confirmed.
  • If we discover an obvious pricing error (for example a purifier listed at $1 instead of $18), we are not obliged to supply at the incorrect price; we will contact you and you may proceed at the correct price or cancel.
  • Services such as installation and annual care plans are priced per visit or per year as described on the relevant page; travel outside city limits may carry an extra charge that we will tell you before booking.

7. Payment

Payment methods offered at checkout may include Cash on Delivery (COD), direct bank transfer, JazzCash, Easypaisa and, where enabled, card payments through a secure gateway. For COD, please have the exact amount ready; the courier cannot open parcels for inspection before payment unless the courier’s own policy allows it. For bank transfers and wallet payments, orders are dispatched after the payment reflects in our account. For organisations, we may require an advance (typically 50%) with the balance before dispatch or on installation, as stated in the quotation.

Repeatedly refusing COD parcels without a valid reason costs us courier charges and delays deliveries for others; we may require advance payment for future orders in such cases.

8. Delivery and risk

Delivery times and couriers are described in our Shipping Policy. Delivery times are estimates, not guarantees; we are not liable for delays caused by couriers, weather, floods, strikes, road closures or other events outside our control, but we will keep you informed. Risk of loss or damage passes to you when the parcel is delivered to the address you gave us. Ownership passes once full payment is received. Please check the parcel on delivery and report visible damage within 48 hours with photographs.

9. Cancellations, returns and refunds

You may cancel an order free of charge before it is dispatched. After delivery, returns and refunds are handled under our Refund & Returns Policy, which includes a 7-day return window for unused products and replacement of items that arrive defective. Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have under applicable consumer-protection law in Pakistan.

10. Warranty

10.1 What is covered

Water Ka Doctor and our other filter products are covered against manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship — for example a cracked housing, a faulty seal or a leaking connector present at delivery — for 6 months from the delivery date, unless a longer period is stated on the product page or your care plan. If a covered defect appears, we will repair or replace the product at our choice, free of charge.

10.2 Usage life is not a warranty

The stated life of about 2 years or 10,000 litres is an expected usage life under normal household conditions with regular backwashing. It is not a guarantee that the membrane will deliver the same flow for that entire period. Very turbid water, iron or silt-heavy sources, or infrequent backwashing will shorten the life and reduce flow. Reduced flow caused by normal clogging is not a defect.

10.3 What is not covered

  • damage from misuse, dropping, freezing, boiling water, excessive pressure, or unauthorised modification or opening of the cartridge;
  • use with water the product is not designed for (see section 11);
  • failure to backwash or maintain the purifier as described in the instructions and our maintenance guide;
  • normal wear of washers, tubing and adaptors;
  • products bought from unauthorised resellers, or counterfeit products.

To make a warranty claim, contact us with your order number, a description of the problem and photos or a short video. Do not post the product back before we give you instructions.

11. Proper and safe use

Water Ka Doctor is designed to remove bacteria, pathogens, parasites, micro- and nano-plastics and suspended solids from sweet (fresh) water. By buying and using it you agree that:

  • it does not reduce TDS (total dissolved solids) and is not suitable for salty, brackish or high-TDS water; it will not make salty water taste sweet;
  • it is not designed to remove dissolved chemicals — including arsenic, fluoride, nitrates, heavy metals, pesticides, industrial effluent or petroleum products — and must not be relied on for water that is chemically or industrially contaminated;
  • it must not be used with sewage or visibly polluted wastewater as a means of producing drinking water;
  • you will follow the instructions supplied, backwash regularly and replace the purifier at the end of its usage life;
  • if you are unsure whether your water is suitable, you will have it tested (we offer a water quality testing service) or contact us before relying on the product.

Community filter stations must be installed and operated following the training and instructions we provide; the operating organisation is responsible for day-to-day upkeep, hygiene of storage containers and keeping the site secure.

12. Services (testing, installation, care plans)

When you book a service, you agree to give our technician safe access at the agreed time and to tell us of any hazards. Water-quality test results describe the sample taken on that day; water quality can change with season, rainfall and supply conditions. Care plans run for 12 months from activation and include the visits or remote support described on the product page. If you miss an appointment without giving 24 hours’ notice, we may charge a re-visit fee.

13. Intellectual property

The PAKVITAE name and logo, “Water Ka Doctor”, “Purity for Humanity”, product designs, website text, articles, graphics, photographs (except third-party images credited as such) and the site’s code are owned by or licensed to PAKVITAE and protected by the Copyright Ordinance, 1962, the Trade Marks Ordinance, 2001 and other laws. You may view, print and share pages for personal, non-commercial use with a link back to pakvitae.org. You may not copy, republish, sell or use our content or trademarks commercially, or use them in a way that suggests endorsement, without our written permission. To report copyright concerns, see our DMCA Policy.

14. Reviews, comments and other content you submit

We welcome honest reviews, including critical ones. By submitting a review, comment, photo or testimonial, you confirm it is your own genuine experience and grant PAKVITAE a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to display, translate and reproduce it on our website and social media in connection with our products. We may moderate, edit for length, or decline content that is abusive, defamatory, off-topic, contains personal data of others, includes phone numbers or links for spam, or is otherwise unlawful. We do not pay for or incentivise positive reviews.

15. Prohibited use of the website

You must not:

  • attempt to hack, overload, scrape at high volume, probe for vulnerabilities in, or bypass the security of the site;
  • place fake orders or orders using someone else’s identity or payment details;
  • upload malware or use the site to send spam;
  • impersonate PAKVITAE, sell counterfeit “Water Ka Doctor” products, or misrepresent yourself as our dealer or agent;
  • use the site in any way that breaks the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act, 2016 or any other law.

We may block access, cancel orders and report unlawful activity to the authorities.

16. Limitation of liability

Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded, including liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence or for fraud.

Subject to that:

  • we are not liable for losses caused by using a product contrary to section 11, ignoring instructions, or relying on the product for water it is not designed to treat;
  • we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as loss of business, profit or opportunity;
  • we are not liable for delays or failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including floods, extreme weather, power cuts, strikes, civil unrest, government action or courier failures;
  • our total liability to you for any order is limited to the price you paid for that order.

The information on our blog and FAQ pages is general and educational and is not medical, engineering or legal advice.

17. Indemnity

If you use the website or our content in breach of these terms or the law — for example by publishing infringing content in a review, reselling counterfeit products under our name, or attacking the site — you agree to compensate PAKVITAE for reasonable losses, costs and legal fees that result.

18. Governing law and jurisdiction

These terms and any dispute arising from them are governed by the laws of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. Subject to section 19, the courts at Karachi, Sindh have exclusive jurisdiction. If you are a consumer living elsewhere, you may also have rights to bring a claim in your local courts or consumer forum.

19. Resolving disputes

  1. Talk to us first. Most problems are solved quickly. Contact us with your order number and describe the issue; we aim to reply within 2 working days.
  2. Escalation. If you are not satisfied, ask for your complaint to be escalated to management in writing to [email protected]. We will give a written response within 14 days.
  3. Mediation or arbitration. If the dispute is still unresolved, both parties will first try in good faith to settle it through mediation in Karachi. For business and institutional contracts, unresolved disputes may be referred to arbitration in Karachi under the Arbitration Act, 1940, with a sole arbitrator agreed by both parties.
  4. This process does not stop you from approaching a consumer court where the law allows.

20. General

  • If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in force.
  • If we do not enforce a right immediately, we can still enforce it later.
  • You may not transfer your rights under these terms without our consent; we may transfer ours to a successor business.
  • These terms are written in English. If a translation is provided, the English version prevails.

21. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The version in force when you place an order applies to that order. The date at the top of the page shows the latest revision.
